Principal

Due to retirement, we're looking to appoint an inspirational and ambitious Principal to expertly lead, grow and inspire our academy community through its next phase of development.

Joining us, you will ensure the delivery of a recently revised, aspirational curriculum as well as high-quality learning opportunities which develop academic achievement and life skills.

You will be committed to enabling children to be independent, ambitious and curious learners so they can thrive in the modern world. To achieve this, you will work to improve achievement across the Academy, identifying areas for development through accurate evaluation and quality assurance whilst ensuring that you work effectively with the local community to maintain the strong profile of the academy. 

Backing from the wider Greenwood Academies Trust network of experts will be complemented by access to informal and professional development, ensuring you always have robust support.

To be successful, you will:

• Have relevant and up-to-date knowledge of teaching and learning strategies across the primary phase
• Be excited about working with colleagues to continue to develop an aspirational and broad curriculum
• Lead staff effectively to deliver high-quality learning experiences for all pupils, including those with high levels of educational need
• Have a thorough understanding of factors that influence pupil performance and how to overcome barriers to learning
• Have strong organisational skills and be relentless in driving educational improvement and raising standards for all pupils
• Have significant experience leading and developing others
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Have previously led a team of people through change and improvement
• Have the skill and ability to engage parents and the community in the life of the school

About us

We are a thriving academy located in Oakley Vale, Corby, serving children aged 3–11. Our building has ample space for different types of learning and has a large practical room for art and food technology-based activities. We also benefit from smaller rooms for more focused work and a large playground and field spaces.

We offer a welcoming, friendly and well-presented learning environment that delivers an engaging, broad and balanced curriculum to pupils from Nursery to Year 6. We're proud of our pupils, who are expected to work hard and give their best.
