Job overview

A Principal of Kindergarten to work alongside the founding Principal and senior management team for a new international school in China, Rong Qiao Sedbergh School, is required. This exciting post arises as a result of a joint project between Sedbergh School and The Rong Qiao Group. Rong Qiao’s vision is to raise the standard of education in Fuzhou and China, investing in building and leading a K-12 international boarding school in Fuzhou following the EYFS curriculum. As one of the UK’s strongest boarding schools, Sedbergh School is a natural choice for Rong Qiao and the distinctive values and culture of Sedbergh School will permeate the new school.

This is an opportunity to have impact and to implement your ideas and values on Early Childhood Education within an international bilingual school setting. The Principal will have encouragement and support from the school to create an innovative, welcoming and learning environment with excellence at the heart of it.

As the Principal of RQSS Kindergarten you would be required to spearhead the development of all aspects of the kindergarten in readiness to deliver a robust and engaging EYFS based programme of education for the children who attend the new school.

We believe this is both an interesting and exciting opportunity for an experienced Nursery/Kindergarten Head or Deputy Head with a strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum. Ideally candidates will have a background of working in a bilingual setting and a demonstrable track record of success in an international school following the EYFS curriculum. Alternatively, candidates with a successful record from a private Nursery or Kindergarten in the UK are also encouraged to apply.

This is a permanent, full-time position within a friendly team offering opportunities for further training and self-development.

Closing date: Thursday 30 November 2017 at 1600 (BST)

The successful candidate will start in advance of the school’s opening in September 2018, and commands an attractive salary with other benefits.
