I CAN’s Meath School
Meath School is an outstanding, non maintained special school for up to 75 day and residential pupils aged 4 to 11 years. We provide the highest quality of education, therapy and care to children who have severe and complex speech, language and communication needs including Asperger’s Syndrome. Most pupils will have a complex profile of learning, medical, sensory and motor coordination difficulties. Speech, language and communication needs will override these to be the foremost barrier to learning.
We are seeking an experienced school senior leader to further develop the school. The Principal will be leading a strong and experienced multidisciplinary senior team to provide a high quality provision for all our pupils. There will also be some requirement to contribute to I CAN’s strategic planning and overall management direction.
As a qualified teacher or perhaps a speech and language therapist, you will already have significant experience working at a senior level within a school. You’ll have knowledge of SEN although not necessarily in a special school) and an understanding of how communication difficulties can impact on the life of a child. As long as you are a good leader and committed to the aims of I CAN, we will provide you with all the necessary training needed to be successful in this role. This is a truly exciting role and we welcome candidates with a range of experience.
To arrange an informal discussion about the role, please contact Deirdre Fitzpatrick, Director of Education on 0207 843 2545. To arrange an informal visit to the school, please contact Pam Cosh, Deputy Head on 01932 872 302.
For full details on the role and the application form, please visit the I CAN website www.ican.org.uk or please email firstname.lastname@example.org to request an application pack.
The closing date for all applications is 5pm, 15th January 2018 with two interview days scheduled for 22nd and 23rd January 2018.
