Kings is seeking a suitability-qualified candidate for this key role at Kings Oxford.
Kings Oxford is part of the Kings Education group. In common with our other UK-based colleges, Kings Oxford is registered as an independent school with the Department for Education and accredited by the British Council.
The college comprises four sites including two main campuses. The St Michaels Campus in the city centre delivers a broad range of English language courses for young adults aged 16 plus; the St Josephs Campus in in Cowley delivers academic programmes for university-bound students aged 15 and over - including GCSE, A-Level and specialist Foundation courses.
The Art Studio on Kings Edward Street provides comprehensive facilities for range of art-relates courses while the Alfred Street annex provides additional capacity for EFL classes.
The Principal will provide effective leadership and management across the whole college.
The role requires a clear vision for, and the leadership of:
- the educational standards to which the college aspires
- the expectations and ambitions of the college in relation to its students, parents, agents and staff
- the style, character and culture of the college
The role also requires a clear understanding of the context in which the college operates, including:
- the statutory and regulatory environment of the college
- the commercial, financial and competitive imperatives of the college
- the strategic objectives of the wider Kings Education group
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- the ability to manage operations in both an academic and ESL context
- a demonstrable track-record of effective leadership and senior management experience within an independent school context
- the energy, judgement, integrity and professionalism required to succeed in such a role
The college was most recently inspected by Ofsted in February 2019, with a Good rating across all categories.
