We are Options Autism, part of Outcomes First Group certified Great Place to Work for the past 2 years running and leaders within education and care. For 16 years we’ve been providing specialist care for adults with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs. We are now expanding and are seeking a skilled Principal to join our brand new, purpose build Post 16 college based in Worcestershire.
Our Post 16 college will be an independent specialist college, providing day and residential programmes to students aged 18-25 years with autism, complex needs and learning disabilities offering vocational training. Based in 30 acres of beautiful surroundings, the college will accommodate 30 FTE learners and will have a personalised approach for the students. The college will be based close to one of our residential services, providing the opportunity to offer a package of support which includes residential education through utilising the available services across the group; thus ensuring the best possible outcomes for each individual.
The role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Principal who is looking to be an innovative and strategic leader, ensuring the college and staff have the resources required to inspire learning for adults with autism, learning disabilities or complex needs. Your work will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure and you will be the custodian of our strong safeguarding culture, where individuals are listened to, respected, and involved in as many decisions as possible.
You will report directly into the Regional Director for Adult Services (West) and will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the college, ensuring the full development of the vision for the service and continuous improvement. You will have responsibility for the operational and financial performance of the service with the support of the Board and senior leadership team.
We are looking for a Principal with the experience, leadership skills and vision to build incredible futures by empowering vulnerable young people in the UK, to be happy and to make their way in the world.
Key duties:
Leading the service on a daily basis whilst pursuing the development of the agreed strategy
Participating in promotional campaigns to fill and maintain full occupancy of the service
Overseeing and monitoring the daily education of the learners, monitoring all legal requirements whilst line managing and supporting the SLT of the college
Working to quality standards such as the Education Inspection Framework and KCSIE 2021
Working effectively with the Board, group wide support services and Heads of Service
Essential requirements:
Previous experience gained at senior management level within a higher education environment
Experience of working with service users with autism, learning disabilities or complex needs
Experience of managing budgets and ensuring cost efficiencies
Proven track record of improving or maintaining high levels of delivery and outcomes for service users.
