Job overview

NPS International School (NPSI) was established in Singapore in 2008 to cater to the burgeoning international demand for high-quality education. It is a member of the National Public Schools (NPS) network, which has an established reputation for upholding the highest quality standards in education in IGCSE, IB and national academic programmes across 12 campuses. Currently NPSI employs 170 full-time faculty, the majority of whom have post-graduate qualifications. The School has over 1,600 students enrolled from Kindergarten to Grade 12.

Following a period of successful growth, NPSI now seeks a Principal of the Primary School to maintain and further enhance its high-quality delivery of all educational programmes within the Early Years and Primary programs. Reporting directly to the Head of School and the Academic Board, the Principal will assume pedagogical leadership for Early Years and Primary education and manage an excellent pastoral care system.

Besides driving collaboration between all Early Years and Primary school staff, the Principal will foster a climate of student and teacher growth by providing a nurturing learning environment and embracing modern pedagogical practices. S/he should personally observe teachers’ classroom delivery and enhance the quality of teaching to sustain academic excellence.

The successful candidate should have senior management experience gained in a first-class international school setting, with significant exposure to preparing Primary school students for the Middle School, leading to the IGCSE or other well-regarded curricula. S/he should have excellent communication and proven leadership skills to foster collaboration within their team, as well as a hands-on approach and a desire to lead from the front. Direct experience gained in a multi-cultural Asian context would be an advantage.

Whilst the preferred start date for the successful candidate is August 2018, for an outstanding individual, a start date of either October 2018 or January 2019 would be possible.
