The core purpose of the Principal is to provide support and guidance for the Deputy Principal and Head of Schools with the professional leadership and management for all schools under the Doha Academy umbrella. The Principal is responsible for establishing high quality education by effectively managing teaching and learning to maximize and realize the potential of all students and will establish a culture that promotes excellence, equality and high expectations of all staff and students. The Principal will share this vision and bring their professional expertise to all Doha Academy Schools to ensure the Vision and Mission is met.
Doha Academy’s vision and mission is to provide an outstanding, accessible and all-inclusive education. The majority of our students have English as a second language, and the ability to support students with language acquisition would be an advantage.

• Provide vision, leadership and direction
• Evaluate school performance and identify priorities for continuous improvement
• Deploy resources to achieve the school’s aims
• Carry out day-to-day management, organisation and administration
• Secure the commitment of the wider community, and create a safe and productive learning environment which is engaging and fulfilling for all students
• Work effectively with the school’s owner
• Develop a staff body that has the necessary skills and knowledge to promote effective learning
• Recognise the role parents and families play in helping children to succeed and thrive through being healthy; staying safe; enjoying and achieving; making a positive contribution and achieving economic security.
General Duties & Responsibilities
The Principal will ensure that staff:
• Receive sufficient training and remain up-to-date with current teaching and learning theories and practice.
• Listen, question and respond to what is being communicated by students and those caring for them
• Demonstrate knowledge of the physical, intellectual, linguistic, social and emotional growth and development of babies, children and young people
• Recognize when a child or young person may not be achieving their developmental potential or their health may be impaired and be able to identify sources of help for them and their families
• Understand the impact on a student of transitions they may be going through
• Adopt the right approach to information sharing by following the correct procedures and by ensuring that the students, parent career understands the process
Shaping the Future
Working with the owner of the school and others to create a shared vision and strategic plan which inspires and motivates students, staff and all other members of the school community and to develop the Islamic ethos of the school.
Leading, Learning and Teaching
Responsibility for raising the quality of teaching and learning and for students’ achievements within a successful learning culture.
Developing Self and Working with Others
To develop effective relationships and communication which underpin a professional learning community that enables everyone in the school to achieve.
Managing the Organization
• To provide effective organization and management of the school and seek ways of improving organizational structures and functions based on rigorous self-evaluation.
• To ensure that the school and the people and resources within it are organized and managed to provide an efficient, effective and safe learning environment. This includes adhering to safe employment procedures which place the safety students at the heart of all practices.
• Build a successful organization through effective collaboration with others.
Accountability
The Principal is legally and contractually accountable to the owner of the school for its environment and all its work. The Principal also must fulfil the wider accountabilities in relation to students and parents.

· Set a good example in terms of dress, punctuality and attendance.
· Attend and participate in open evenings and report on pupil progress.
· Uphold the school's behavior code and uniform regulations.

· Attend team and staff meetings.

· Ability to reflect on and improve performance
