About the Opportunity

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic school leader to support the school through its next stage of development.

The Principal will promote and support the vision and direction of the school, by providing day-to-day leadership which supports success and provides high quality education for our children.

The successful candidate will have previous senior leadership experience, with a proven track record of promoting, developing and delivering excellence in education.   Interested candidates should download the job profile and person specification for greater detail. 

About the person

Applicants must have a relevant Bachelor’s degree from a reputable UK University (or equivalent), Qualified Teacher Status, with either a PGCE or BEd from the UK, and a minimum of 2 years previous school leadership experience. 

You should have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain strong and positive relationships with all of the school’s stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • UK-based teaching qualifications and experience
  • A proven track record of achievement in school leadership positions, within similar primary aged education establishments
  • Experience of working in a British international school environment outside the UK in a multi-lingual multi-cultural setting
  • A passion and a drive for excellence at all levels and developing teachers so that they deliver quality teaching and learning experiences for their students.
  • The ability to lead change and achieve sustained improvements


About the School

Baleares International College (BIC) https://balearesint.net/ is the largest British Curriculum school in Mallorca.  The school has two campuses, and provides education based on the English National Curriculum to over 410 students (from 3 to 18 years) in Sa Porrassa, and 125 primary aged students at Baleares International College, Sant Agustí.

BIC Sant Agustí https://balearesint.net/campuses/sant-agust%C3%AD-campus is located in the high-quality residential environment of Sant Agustí on the south coast of Mallorca. The school is in a very accessible location, just on the outskirts of the capital, Palma.  We offer a high-quality education from Nursery to Year 6.  The school has a friendly, family atmosphere with capacity for grow to 160 students in its current accommodation and the possibility of further expansion beyond that. 

BIC is accredited by the Spanish Ministry of Education based upon inspection and recommendation by the British Council and is a founding member of the National Association of British Schools in Spain (NABSS).  The school is also a member of COBIS, the Council of British International Schools.

The Process and how to apply

Initial selection interviews with qualified candidates will take place via Skype on a rolling basis as applications are received. Candidates shortlisted for the role will be invited to a final stage interview in Mallorca in the early part of 2020.
