International College Spain is one of the leading international schools in Europe. It is the only school in Madrid that offers three of the prestigious International Baccalaureate programmes in English to all our students. What we are looking for

We seek a talented, internationally experienced leader in education to build upon the great work achieved to date. The Principal takes responsibility for the leadership, organisation and management of the whole school. The post-holder’s key deliverables are aligned with the annual school quality review,  Council of International Schools / New England Association of Schools and Colleges / International Baccalaureate Organisation accreditation processes and the school’s strategic plan. Other key objectives include: education quality and outcomes, school growth, financial targets, staff development, resource utilisation and Health & Safety.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Relentlessly pursue outstanding academic performance for the many, not the few
  • Understand how to blend the best of IB curricula with contemporary educational research and thinking on education
  • Continue to create a distinctive positioning for the school in its local and international markets
  • Lead strategic institutional change and improvement together with innovations in teaching and learning
  • Have the proven capacity to lead a high performing educational and administrative team in a growing large school context
  • Possess a creative and pragmatic mind with the ability and experience of working within or with wider international networks
  • Demonstrate a flair for attracting, retaining and developing talent
  • Preferably possess a working knowledge of at least two of the International Baccalaureate Organisations’ educational programmes
  • Be effective in building international school cultures and a caring ethos
