Job overview

The Hart School was formed and opened in September 2016 as a result of the merger of two smaller 11-18 schools; Fair Oak Academy and Hagley Park Academy, both of which had been sponsored by Creative Education Trust since September 2011.

The Hart School has been recognised by Ofsted as a ‘good’ school in March 2018, with a broad and balanced curriculum which encourages pupils to develop a wider understanding of culture. It is important that the academy continues to develop fully rounded individuals capable of contributing positively when they transition to further education and the world of work.

Students benefit from a very committed staff and the school strives to provide an inclusive and expansive education for each the children in its care.

The curriculum provides highly positive memorable experiences and rich opportunities allowing every student to find something that they can excel at.

Due to the current Principal moving to another school within the Trust, Creative Education Trust is seeking to appoint an exceptional permanent Principal to:

1. Provide inspirational and motivational leadership across the school that raises aspirations and drives academic performance

2. Champion a culture that encourages initiative and accountability and strengthens the quality of leadership at all levels

3. Deliver a rich and varied curriculum offer that meets students’ needs in an ever-changing world

4. Develop effective working relationships with partners and stakeholders across the community to fulfil the school’s goals

An existing Headteacher/Principal or an outstanding and ambitious Deputy with substantial experience of school leadership, you will have the creativity, drive and ambition to lead our school. You are committed to developing a strong team of leaders, teachers and support staff to deliver a culture of continuous school improvement. Building on the ethos of The Hart School and Creative Education Trust, you will foster an environment in which learning thrives and where students are at the heart of everything.

In return for your energy, passion and ambition, we offer you the whole-hearted support of a successful and growing multi-academy trust in continuing to develop The Hart School.  You will also be rewarded with a highly attractive remuneration package, and the opportunity to work collaboratively with a group of talented Principals to drive the Trust’s future.

Our Director of Education, Philip Cantwell, would be delighted to discuss this role with you and is available on Philip.Cantwell@creativeeducationtrust.org.uk or 07776 333034.

Closing date for applications: Monday 17th February 2020
