Job overview

Principal of Guildford High School, United Learning

Competitive salary and benefits package

Guildford High School is a lively, happy setting where girls blossom personally, intellectually and socially.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate to lead this highly prestigious and successful independent day school. Winner of both The Sunday Times Southeast Independent School of the Decade, and Independent Preparatory School of the Decade, Guildford High School provides an inspiring, first-class education for academically able and characterful girls from age four to eighteen. Continuing this success and enhancing it further will require a leader of significant experience, character and ambition who is driven by the desire and creativity to take the school to the next stage of its success.

We are looking for someone who can win the trust and respect of the extraordinary group of people who comprise the school community; who can energise, inspire and build teams; who is courageous enough to keep what is excellent and discerning in driving continuous improvement; and who can continue to deliver an education that its pupils and their families are particularly proud to support. Most importantly, the new Principal will know what excellence looks like, expect nothing less and never stop looking for ’The best in everyone’.

If you share our ambition for this role and believe that you have appropriate mix of skills and experience, we look forward to receiving your application. We want to become more diverse at senior levels, so particularly welcome applications from black and minority ethnic candidates, who are currently underrepresented in senior positions in our Group and across the sector. We always appoint on merit and are open to discussing flexible working options.
