Argyll and Bute Council are looking to recruit a temporary, full-time Principal Teacher (0.6) / Teacher (0.4) of Primary to cover Maternity Leave for Innellan Primary School, near Dunoon.  The expected contract end date is the 9th November 2018.

The salary for the Principal Teacher is £38,991 p/a pro-rata, and the Teacher will be paid on our Basic Teacher Salary, from £22,416 to £35,763 p/a pro-rata, dependent on experience.

Any applicant, who is not currently registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS), should include evidence of a pending application with this regulatory body with their application.

Subject to the policies of the school and the education authority, the duties of teachers, promoted and unpromoted, are to perform such tasks as the Head Teacher shall direct, having reasonable regard to overall teacher workload related to the main job activities.

The role of the Principal Teacher is to assist the head teacher in conducting the affairs of the school to the benefit of the pupils and the community it serves through pursuing objectives and implementing policies set by the education authority and within the resources available.

• This is a temporary post which may be filled on a secondment basis by an employee wishing to gain experience/career development and will be at the discretion of the employee's director.
