Job overview

Queen Victoria School (QVS) is a co-educational Boarding School funded by the Ministry of Defence to educate some 270 children of Service Personnel. The School is set in 45 acres of beautiful Perthshire countryside and offers stable and uninterrupted co-educational boarding for 11 – 18 year olds.

 The Technical Department consists of one Principal Teacher and one Teacher. Applications are invited from well-qualified graduates with proven management experience relevant to the post. They should be sound communicators, who can also demonstrate good planning and time management skills.  Full details of the post can be found in the Job Pack.

They must have a comprehensive knowledge of the curriculum and be suitably qualified to teach S1 – S6 with experience of teaching relevant technical subjects, at all levels.  Applicants must be, GTC Scotland registered and also PVG registered prior to taking up post.

Salary is based on SNCT Agreements.  In addition, QVS Boarding School Allowance is payable to reflect the requirement to undertake additional boarding duties. Currently this allowance is £7,752. However, it should be noted that all allowances are under review and there is no guarantee that this will always be available.  A commitment to boarding school life, including taking part in extra curricular activities, is essential. Previous experience in sports coaching, Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme or CCF would be desirable.
