Summary
Canary Wharf College East Ferry is seeking to appoint an inspirational Principal to join our primary team. We are looking for an ambitious and dynamic professional who is committed to the highest standard of teaching and learning. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a two-form entry primary school serving 300 pupils from Reception to Year 6. In our multi-cultural school community, pupils are well-behaved and motivated.
The school is part of a successful Multi-Academy Trust which welcomes staff and pupils from all faiths while operating within a Christian ethos. We are based in a quiet setting in the heart of the Isle of Dogs in Tower Hamlets, yet close to Mudchute, Island Gardens and Crossharbour DLR stations and central London. The school operates long days, balanced by shorter terms.
Areas of Responsibility
The key areas of responsibility of the role will be:
- Character, vision and ethos of school: promoting an ethos that reflects the school’s commitment to high expectations and standards.
- Outcomes, standards and behaviour: effectiveness, progress and standards are kept under rigorous review.
- Management of resources: ensuring that efficient and effective use is made of staff, space and resources.
- Safeguarding: actively promoting a culture of safeguarding at all times.
- Health and Safety: ensuring the school provides a safe environment for students, staff and visitors.

Qualifications:
- Graduate (with a good degree) plus formal Teaching Qualification or other relevant professional studies
- Evidence of recent and relevant continued professional development in the fields of teaching and learning and education management
