Job overview

Following the retirement of the current Principal, we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated leader to join the Oasis family, and transform our Primary Academy in Trowbridge. It is an exciting time to be a part of Oasis Community Learning (OCL), as 79% of our inspected Academies are ‘Good’ or better with steadily improving outcomes at all phases of education. We need you to be the driving force on our journey to exceptional education.

Are you ready for your next challenge?

Oasis Academy Longmeadow is a small, warm and vibrant Academy, located in the Longfield area of Trowbridge. Home to 144 pupils, facilities are perfectly suited to our young learners. Embracing our creative, activity-led curriculum, we make the most of our ten teaching areas, which include a homely library, outdoor play-space, quiet area and flower gardens.

An Inclusive Approach

It is important to us that our teaching models, facilities and curriculum give every child the opportunity to reach their potential, regardless of their background or ability on entry into education. With our inclusive-of-all admissions policy and the smaller nature of our Academy we believe that we should and can tailor our lessons to support each of our young minds. In order to do this we choose to invest in our staff, from support through to leadership, and their continuous professional development.

Our Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an inspirational leader and role-model who will inspire, train, support and direct teachers to be outstanding classroom specialists. The successful candidate will be a dedicated and proven effective leader, who will continue to raise standards and further enhance the curriculum, enriching the lives of our young learners. You will have an uncompromising approach to school improvement and raising attainment, and you will value the importance of to making learning engaging in order to ensure that every child can reach their potential.

Ofsted

The Academy’s last full inspection was in May 2017 and the inspection report was published in June 2017. The Academy was judged to be ‘Inadequate’. The inspectors noted that there had been an improvement in Early Years learning since the previous visit in June 2015, but we still have a journey ahead of us. Therefore we are looking for an ambitious and tenacious Principal to lead us in this process. We are positive about the future of the Academy, and are looking for the right person who believes as passionately about our potential as we do.

Effective Partnerships

You will not be alone in this journey. You will enjoy the support and challenge of a Regional Director along with the wider OCL National Team. By being part of a family of 48 Oasis Academies, you will work with colleagues who share your goals and ambitions and who all go the extra mile to create an environment where children and adults learn every day. We provide a wide range of professional development opportunities for all staff and will offer an innovative and unique support structure that includes annual national and regional conferences as well as training and networking opportunities.

Come see for yourself!

We are inviting applicants to see the school Tuesday 12 September at 9.30am and 1:30pm and Friday 15 September at 9:30am. Please contact Gemma Lamb by email on oclrecruitment@oasisuk.org to arrange an appointment.

Take the next step and lead our vision to transform lives and whole communities.
