Job overview

This is a fantastic opportunity to join The Littlehampton Academy at the start of a new journey.

Our students deserve the best – and everyone at Woodard Academies Trust is resolute in our commitment to bring about rapid improvement. To lead this crucial work, we’re looking for a Principal who shares our ambition for success.

This is not an opportunity for someone who wants to stand still. We’ve been challenged to improve at pace and have already made some important changes to how we work. To lead and deliver on our promise, we’re looking for an aspirational leader, eager to make their mark in an academy that can and will improve rapidly.

Littlehampton is a large, 11-18 academy located on the Sussex coast. We have over 1500 students on roll and, in 2009, became an academy as part of the Woodard Academies Trust.

Ofsted have rightly identified our students as our strength – and we are committed to giving them the best possible chance to fulfil their potential, providing an education that encourages academic, spiritual and moral development, within a Christian ethos.

To be successful you’ll demonstrate that you share our values and can lead, motivate and inspire staff and students alike. It’s also important that you recognise the impact of your role as a leader in the local community. The academy is at the heart of life in Littlehampton, so we’ll be looking to you to reach out to families, developing new partnerships and harnessing the potential of our wider community.

The opportunities for the successful candidate are clear. You’ll join an academy that enjoys a modern learning environment, a great location on the south coast, and has all the potential to become the beacon of educational excellence we know it can be.

You’ll find students who are engaged and keen to learn, as well as a local Academy Council and central trust team who are committed to excellence and able to support you every step of the way.

For an informal (and confidential) discussion, or to arrange a visit, please contact James Sturdy on 0203 637 5007. To find out how to apply, visit www.joinlittlehampton.co.uk.

The closing date for all applications is Monday 14th March 2016.

Woodard Academies Trust is committed to the safeguarding of children and young people. An enhanced disclosure from the DBS will be required for this post.
