A career defining leadership opportunity

Capital City Academy was the first UK Academy, opened by Tony Blair in 2003. It had the ambitious aim of bringing the best resources available to transform the lives of children who were not reaching their full potential.  Today, Capital City Academy is thriving. While still in one of the country’s most challenged boroughs – with the highest intake of refugees across the UK – results have improved significantly over time. 91% of our students go onto further education or directly into jobs.  Currently rated GOOD by Ofsted, we are ready to step up into OUTSTANDING. Do you have the strategic leadership skills and required insight to take us there?

Do you grasp the special opportunity of a diverse school community?

Capital boasts 84 different languages, yet it is an especially harmonious community. If you understand why diversity adds so much to the innate vitality and creativity of a school - and are capable of planning for a wide range of starting points – this is for you.

Do you understand the role of the Arts and Sports in achievement across the board?

Capital City Academy was founded by Sir Frank Lowe as an Arts and Sports Academy. Not simply because we may have outstanding sports men and women and artists within our midst, but because sports and arts literacy and practice benefits us all across the board. If you can envisage the whole human being at the heart of our education and would relish using the outstanding facilities we have at our disposal – this is for you.

When you look at the school, can you see the networks that support it?

For our students to flourish, we need a strong relationship between the school, family and community. Are you a good at forging and developing relationships within and between these vital networks? If so – we hope you will consider joining us today.
