Job overview

Students, staff and parents of Network International School are looking for a passionate, innovative and creative Principal who can lead the school and inspire all stakeholders. The Principal must have an excellent understanding of the UK curriculum framework and the successful candidate will need to be an inspirational role model, a strategic thinker, an excellent communicator and share in the school’s commitment to educate the whole child.

Network is one of the leading British International Schools in Yangon, Myanmar and we have been providing a high-quality education since 1996 based on the Early Years Framework, the UK National Curriculum and Cambridge IGCSE’s and ‘A’ Levels. Since 2016 our Year 11 and Year 6 cohorts have achieved progress equivalent to Outstanding Schools progress in the UK.

The school has been on a rapid journey of development and is now ready for a new leader to take the school forward for the next five years and beyond. During this time the school has doubled in size from 400 to 800 students; gained Cambridge accreditation; opened a sixth form and graduated its first students to university. In tandem with this we have reviewed the Early Years curriculum, introduced the revised 2014 UK National Curriculum and IGCSE and A level examinations. We have also opened a new Primary and Early Years campus and built an architect designed fit for purpose Secondary School which opened in August 2020.

The school is held in very high regard in the Yangon community and even though there is a very competitive international schools market we retain heavily oversubscribed waiting lists in all Early Years and most primary year groups.

This is a unique opportunity for a successful leader to develop the school to the next level.

Network International School is the leading British international school in Yangon and the first to be accredited by BSO (British Schools Overseas). An all-through school, we educate students of approximately 25 nationalities between the ages of 2 to 18 years, from our flexible Early Years programmes up to Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form. Our mission is to deliver an outstanding education in a world full of opportunity, where our students are equipped to lead rewarding lives, forge successful futures and make their mark on society.

We believe that outstanding academic achievement is as important for future success as the need to develop character and a lifelong love of learning. Our approach is holistic and student-centred, and our BSO-accredited curriculum blends creative and innovative teaching practices with small class sizes and an excellent student-teacher ratio, complemented by an enriching and comprehensive extra-curricular programme of clubs, trips and activities. This balance creates a tailored learning experience for our students which encourages and supports them to explore their passions.

Network International School students go on to achieve great success: our class of '24 were awarded over 60% A*/A grades in their IGCSEs and 40% A*/A grades in their A Levels. These extraordinary achievements enable our graduates to secure their first-choice courses ranging from Medicine to Physics, Philosophy and Engineering at some of the leading universities around the world. Underpinning this success is our partnership network between teachers, parents and the wider community, through which we ensure our students are empowered to make a difference to their school, country and our global network.
