On Sophia, our tutors can expect to earn an average of £55/hour via our mobile app, depending on your qualifications and experience.   

We are proud to be founded by a former Headteacher and led by an experienced team of educational leaders. Sophia enables tutors to be their own boss through the convenience of setting their own schedules and availability and managing their bookings. 

Parents are able to choose between trusted, verified and fully vetted tutors at the experience level they require for their children, thanks to detailed profiles with personal bios, ratings and reviews. 

For tutors, our platform is flexible, responsive to the availability and schedule you define, easy to use and minimises admin.   Tutors are paid direct by parents using Stripe at the end of every session, so payment is cashless, secure and quick.  

Safety and Support are paramount at Sophia. We believe in the protection of our students and tutors. Not only do we follow the highest standards of best practice in Safer Recruitment in Education for the recruitment of our tutors but Sophia also offers Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance for every tuition session.

Sophia is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff, volunteers and other third parties to share this commitment.

Safer recruitment practice and rigorous pre-employment background checks will be undertaken before any tutor is confirmed on the app. All Sophia Tutors are subject to verified reference checks and must hold a valid enhanced DBS certificate.
