Mencap are recruiting a Programme Lead to work within the Lifestyles & Work Employ Me team. Employ Me is Mencap’s model for supported employment. We are really excited to be recruiting to this role which will lead a fantastic new programme of work which we have recently been successful in securing. 


As Programme Lead you will manage the successful delivery of the Employ Me GLA (Greater London Authority) ESF (European Social Fund) programme in London. This programme aims to support NEET (Not in Education, Employment, Training) SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities) young people who have learning difficulties, disabilities and autism to access sustained employment, education and training.


We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering sustainable outcomes for young people and who can develop excellent relationships with key stakeholders.  Over the duration of the project we are looking to work with 650 young people so this gives us a real chance to make a difference and change lives!


This role will have particular responsibility for ensuring successful delivery of the ESF project and that all teams and delivery partners within the supply chain are meeting the requirements set out by the GLA and ESF.  We have developed an excellent partnership to support the overall delivery of the programme and this role will be vital in ensuring the overall project is delivered successfully.


You will have experience of managing supported employment provision on a large scale including experience of successful management of a supply chain of delivery partners.


We are looking for you to have proven leadership skills that will ensure the teams and supply chain partners deliver high quality provision, meeting targets and achieving high quality sustainable outcomes for young people.


You will be responsible for ensuring project budgets are on track, outcomes are delivered and the overall outcomes and outputs of the programme are delivered on time.


You will have proven relationship management skills that lead to excellent stakeholder relationships that add value to programme delivery and outcomes for young people.


The role will be home based with an expectation that some work will take place at our Centre of Engagement in Central London and other satellite offices in the Greater London Authority area. This is a full time (37.5 hrs per week) contract to June 2023.

Key Requirements: 


Oversee and ensure successful delivery of project milestones, outcomes and outputs

Leadership and management skills

Supply chain management knowledge and experience  

Excellent stakeholder management

Excellent communication and organisational skills

Knowledge and experience of delivery and management of ESF funded provision

Ability to lead, manage and motivate high performing delivery teams

Ability to drive high quality data collection across the supply chain and delivery teams that meets ESF requirements

Strong stakeholder management skills
