There are two exciting opportunities to join this supportive, positive, growing and Outstanding Faculty within an Outstanding College. We have recently moved into exceptional purpose-built accommodation in the new Maths and Science Centre on Queen Street at the heart of the college’s sites which include 3 large chemistry labs, a Forensic Science Lab, 8 other labs and 7 other classrooms including a Computer Science lab. The sciences are supported by 3 technicians. These opportunities have arisen due to additional growth of the faculty, particularly in our BTEC Applied Science course, and a FT chemistry specialist moving on due to re-location. The successful candidates will demonstrate a passion for continual improvement, excellence in Teaching and Learning and a commitment to teamwork. You will be able to inspire learners to reach their full potential and have the ability to teach up to level 3 where we offer courses in BTEC (Applied/Forensic Science), A level, Access to H.E. and IB. Applications are sought from either experienced practitioners and those newer to the profession. We will endeavour to appoint the applicants with the greatest potential and welcome full time and part time applicants. Please indicate in your online supporting statement if you want full time or part time work.

The closing date for receipt of completed applications is Sunday 6th November at 12 midnight with interviews planned for Thursday 17th November. Start date Tuesday 3rd January or by negotiation depending upon your current contractual arrangements.

Ofsted report

“As a result of the highly motivated, skilled and experienced staff, the quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding. Lecturers provide learners with challenging work that prepares them extremely well for their next steps.”

“The bold strategy for improving learners’ English and mathematics is ensuring more learners improve their skills in these subjects. Excellent care, guidance and support for learners, particularly the most vulnerable, ensure that they make good, and often excellent, progress. Support for learners is very well coordinated and helps many overcome problems which would otherwise prevent them from learning.”
