Nelson and Colne College are an Ofsted Outstanding College with an excellent local reputation. We are looking for a Programme Leader - Business Administration, Customer Service & Retail to join our talented and learner focused Work-based Learning team. 

Working with learners placed in businesses across Lancashire, the successful candidate will be committed to work-based learning provision, with an appreciation of the fact that the role of a Programme Leader can make a huge difference to the life choices our learners will have in the future. 

Supporting a caseload of learners through their qualifications, the successful candidate will have a “hands-on” approach to coaching and demonstrating best practice in line with the new Standards. 

Main duties include:

· Deliver all elements of relevant Business Unit programmes including: training, mentoring, learner reviews, timely feedback and assessment

· Deal with student recruitment, admission and induction procedures

· Be involved in student, College and company inductions

· Take a “hands-on” approach with students, coaching and demonstrating best practice in line with the new Standards

· Conduct initial assessment of student needs

· Maintain accurate student records

The ideal candidate will have:

· Have an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject, plus an A1 Award

· Experience of delivery and assessment of qualifications in Business Administration, Customer Service & Retail 

· Possess current commercial knowledge/industrial experience 

· Display a positive and enthusiastic attitude

About Nelson and Colne College

Nelson and Colne College, located in the town of Nelson, Lancashire, offers further education to 1,600 full-time students and 3,500 part-time adults. The college was founded during the reorganisation of education in Pendle in the early 1970s and created by the merger of several local sixth forms. 

Recent investments have included a £2m engineering facility, an all-weather sports pitch and gym, fully equipped science laboratories, and student study and social spaces. In January 2017, Nelson and Colne College launched a university centre to offer a range of higher education programmes in East Lancashire and beyond.
