Due to the progression of a current member of the Chemistry team, there is an exciting opportunity to join the Outstanding Faculty of Maths and Science. The faculty was awarded grade 1 in the Ofsted inspection in 2014 and has continued to grow its range of provision with improved Achievement and Value-Added ever since. We are primarily based in new purpose-built facilities in the Maths and Science Centre. The faculty delivers a range of maths and science courses at levels two and three including GCSEs, A levels, BTEC Applied Science, IB science and maths courses, Access to HE and Apprenticeships at levels 3 and 4. You will be joining an experienced, supportive team for Chemistry A level and the BTEC Applied Science course with a strong commitment to sharing ideas and resources. You would also benefit from extensive support within the faculty including a mentor, Tutorial Lead and Teaching and Learning Lead.
As a Programme Leader you will work with the support of a Team Leader to carry out teaching and tutorial duties and will have the opportunity to take on responsibility for an aspect of Chemistry delivery. This role is currently anticipated to primarily deliver chemistry content at level 3 for A level and the Applied Science BTEC course, but teaching chemistry on other courses or levels may also be available.
Experienced teachers or entrants to the profession are invited to apply; we will be seeking to appoint a teacher with the greatest ability, enthusiasm and commitment to excellence in the classroom. In addition to a full time post, we would welcome applicants looking for part time work to support this growth area. Ability to teach another curriculum area is welcome but not essential.
