Values and Vision

The Grimsby Institute Group aims to put students first by delivering an excellent and accessible education, always focused on the raising of standards. They want to inspire learners by being creative and innovative. The university centre believes effective and productive partnerships will maximise benefits for learners and local communities. Supporting and valuing colleagues in a culture of respect and teamwork is also a high priority. The centre wants its students to feel they can easily approach staff about their problems, which could include bullying, accommodation problems, abuse (in any of its forms) or self-harm.

Ofsted report

“Teachers have successfully established very good working relationships with their students that foster positive attitudes to learning and high expectations. In lessons, teachers carefully explain the topics they are covering and plan activities skilfully to engage interest. Students work well in groups and collaborate effectively. Constructive discussions help develop communication skills and teamwork. Vocational subject teachers use examples from their industrial experience to contextualise learning and help students to understand the significance of their studies for their future careers.”
