The Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Programme Leader to join our IT Department.

This role will assist the Director of Curriculum with the operational day to day running of the area. The post holder will be expected to teach an appropriate caseload within the designated curriculum area. The post will involve line management.

Applicants should have a full teaching qualification to current national standards

Moreover a Degree or equivalent/professional qualification in the subject area is also essential.

Key Responsibilities:

•To be responsible for the operational day to day running of the area.

•To coordinate the planning and timetabling for the specified curriculum area

•To undertake line management duties as required, for example completion of appraisals with staff and student disciplinaries.

•To ensure that team meetings, standardisation and other College processes are carried out to prescribed standards and deadlines, including carrying out learning walk caseload and capturing/ actionning regular learner voice feedback.

•To work with the Director of Curriculum to develop and implement strategies to increase student success rates to outstanding and ensure that progression and destinations are excellent. To maximise the external work experience opportunities to enhance learner experience and preparation for future careers.

Annual leave  

Academic staff are entitled to 40 days per annum (pro rata for part time staff) for the academic year 01 September to 31 August and this is in addition to the Bank and Public Holidays normally observed in England and Wales. 

Business Support staff are entitled to 30 days per annum (pro rata for part time staff) for the academic year 01 September to 31 August and this is in addition to the Bank and Public Holidays normally observed in England and Wales. 

College Management Team are entitled to 35 days per annum (pro rata for part time staff) for the academic year 01 September to 31 August and this is in addition to the Bank and Public Holidays normally observed in England and Wales.  

The College is closed for 2 weeks during the student Christmas break during which time all staff are granted additional leave to be taken at this time.
