Job overview
Be part of something new. Be part of something powerful.
RTE is a new, Black Caribbean-focused Saturday school programme with a bold mission: to empower children and young people of Caribbean heritage to excel academically, embrace their identity, build strong character, and achieve their highest aspirations.
Through a combination of academic tutoring, mentoring, and enrichment, RTE will work with children, parents, and schools to:
Foster confidence and a positive mindset
· Raise academic achievement
· Cultivate leadership skills
· Strengthen cultural identity and resilience
· Build community and self-reliance
· Create opportunities at key educational transition point
We will also work closely with parents and schools to remove barriers, support learning at home, and celebrate diversity—ensuring consistent, holistic support for each young person.
The Role
We are looking for a highly organised and visionary Programme Manager to join us at the very start of this exciting journey. This is a start-up role, and the right person will play a key part in designing, shaping, and implementing the RTE programme from the ground up.
As Programme Manager, you will:
· Co-develop the programme structure, content, and delivery model
· Lead the operational set-up of the Saturday school offer
· Build partnerships with families, local schools, and community stakeholders
· Help design systems for measuring impact and evaluating success
· Support branding, outreach, and communication as we grow our visibility
What We’re Looking For
A passionate advocate for equity in education, especially for Black Caribbean children and young people
· Experience in programme or project development—ideally from inception
· Strong communication, organisational, and relationship-building skills
· A creative and strategic thinker, comfortable navigating start-up environments
· A collaborator who shares our vision and is excited to help shape something meaningful from the ground up
We particularly welcome applicants with lived experience or a strong connection to the Black Caribbean community.
Flexibility
We’re committed to finding the right person for this pivotal role. If you’re inspired by this vision but would need flexibility in working hours or arrangements, please get in touch—we’re open to discussion.
This role is available on a part-time basis, three days per week. This is a permanent role.
Closing date for applications - 09:00 Mon. 2nd June 2025.
Interviews are scheduled to take place Mon. 9th June 2025.
(LAET will invite strong candidates to interview as applications come in throughout the designated advertisement period).
Start date - ASAP.
