Harrow Council is looking for a Skills for Life Programme Manager to join their Adult, Community and Family Learning Service team.
The post holder will be responsible for managing a broad Skills for Life programme, including Functional English and Maths, Employability Skills and ESOL and contribute to the development of a broad range of courses across the borough to meet the needs of the local learners and contribute to local and national targets.
The post-holder will have specialist knowledge of the curriculum areas and experience of delivery of the programme areas in the adult or further education sectors role duties include:
- Management of Skills for Life and ESOL programmes
- Curriculum development of designated subject areas
- Line management of sessional tutors
- Professional support and resourcing for the designated subject areas
- Some teaching in agreed curriculum area(s)
To be successful in this role you would need to have:

In-depth understanding of Adult and Community Learning and the current issues impacting on the sector

Up to date knowledge of the teaching and delivery contexts for ESOL and Skills for Life and of curriculum developments in these areas

An understanding of the external requirements of the regulatory bodies in relation to adult and community learning
Full teaching qualification (adult/further education)with evidence of subject specialism in appropriate curriculum area and a degree or equivalent. An internal verification award is desirable
