Harrow Council is looking for a Skills for Life Programme Manager to join their Adult, Community and Family Learning Service team.

The post holder will be responsible for managing a broad Skills for Life programme, including Functional English and Maths, Employability Skills and ESOL and contribute to the development of a broad range of courses across the borough to meet the needs of the local learners and contribute to local and national targets.

The post-holder will have specialist knowledge of the curriculum areas and experience of delivery of the programme areas in the adult or further education sectors role duties include:

• Management of Skills for Life and ESOL programmes
• Curriculum development of designated subject areas
• Line management of sessional tutors
• Professional support and resourcing for the designated subject areas
• Some teaching in agreed curriculum area(s)

To be successful in this role you would need to have:

• In-depth understanding of Adult and Community Learning and the current issues impacting on the sector
• Up to date knowledge of the teaching and delivery contexts for ESOL and Skills for Life and of curriculum developments in these areas
• An understanding of the external requirements of the regulatory bodies in relation to adult and community learning

Full teaching qualification (adult/further education)with evidence of subject specialism in appropriate curriculum area and a degree or equivalent. An internal verification award is desirable
