We are one of the highest performing colleges nationally on all courses at all levels, rated Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ and a TEF Gold provider.

Team leaders are responsible for TLA, quality, student support, staff leadership and resource issues in respect of all courses offered. We are seeking applicants with good academic and professional qualifications, appropriate lecturing experience and experience of leadership in an educational context. We are looking for someone who works with confidence with a wide variety of ability levels, who is a committed team member and who projects an enthusiasm for this subject.

The successful applicant will be responsible for leading a team who teach a range of full and part-time programmes and offer tutorial support to a number of full and part-time students.

The area delivers a wide range of courses including: 

  • A LEVEL Physical Education
  • BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Sport
  • BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Sport and Exercise Sciences 
  • BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Public Services 
  • BTEC 1st Award in Sport and Public Services
  • Diploma in Sporting Excellence - Rugby
  • Apprenticeship Programmes – Operational Firefighter and Community Safety Advisor (Tri-Service Officer)
  • Foundation Degrees – Sports Coaching, Sports Rehabilitation and Health and Fitness
  • BSc – Applied Sport and Health Science.

The Sports Area currently runs Sports Academies in Rugby (men’s and women’s), Football (men’s and women’s), Hockey (men’s and women’s), Cricket (men’s and women’s) Netball, Rackets (badminton and tennis), Basketball, Surfing and Elite.  

The College has a formal agreement with the Exeter Chiefs Rugby Club and has a Football Development Programme in association with the Chelsea Foundation. Other links include the Plymouth Raiders and the Team Bath Netball Hub.

Applicants should hold a degree or similar professional qualifications and a recognised teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one. As well as teaching, the successful candidate is likely to have responsibility for a tutor group.
