Job overview
We are pioneers in girls’ education, united by a shared purpose: to help girls learn without limits. As our Programmes & Operations Coordinator, you will help turn Education Directorate priorities into well-organised programmes, events and opportunities for students and colleagues across the GDST.
Working at the heart of the Education Directorate, you will support a varied portfolio spanning student enrichment, professional learning, flagship events, Trust-wide networks, evidence-informed practice and digital communications. It is a broad and engaging coordination role for someone who enjoys bringing people and detail together to make things happen.
What you’ll be doing
You will play a central role in coordinating the practical delivery of the Directorate’s programmes and day-to-day activity, working with colleagues across Trust Office and our schools, Trust Consultant Teachers, facilitators and external partners. You will help ensure opportunities are well organised, clearly communicated and easy for schools, staff and students to engage with.
You will:
Coordinate high-quality administrative and operational support across Education Directorate programmes, projects, events and communications.
Support the planning, promotion, administration and evaluation of student events and programmes, including maintaining the student events calendar and supporting budget and expenditure tracking.
Coordinate GDST Learn activity and flagship Education Directorate events, including delegate communications, registrations, venues, materials, logistics and technical arrangements.
Support Trust-wide initiatives including GDST Prizes and Scholarships, Peer Reviews, Ideas Exchanges and the Directorate’s evidence-informed practice work.
Manage and promote programme communications and digital content across platforms including myGDST, Eventbrite, Mailchimp, Canva and TryBooking.
Provide responsive coordination support to Network Chairs and Trust Consultant Teachers, helping strengthen collaboration and participation across the GDST network.
What you’ll bring
This role will suit an organised and proactive coordinator who combines strong attention to detail with confident communication and digital skills.
We are looking for someone who brings:
Proven experience providing high-quality administrative and organisational support in a professional environment.
A track record of coordinating programmes, projects or events involving multiple stakeholders.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver accurate work.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to build positive working relationships across different teams and settings.
A high level of digital confidence, including experience using online collaboration, event or communications platforms.
A collaborative, proactive and solutions-focused approach, with the initiative to improve processes and ways of working.
Experience in education, a membership organisation, charity or not-for-profit environment would be helpful, but is not essential.

With 24 independent schools and two academies, the Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST) is the largest school group of its kind in the UK. We are specialists in girls’ education, tailoring our teaching to the way girls learn best and delivering innovative learning for girls aged three to eighteen. From nursery, primary and prep school, throughout secondary school, and Sixth Form, students learn in an environment where every girl thrives.
GDST schools are recognised as centres of educational excellence — proven by annual sector awards, leading exam results, and successes in traditionally male-dominated subject areas like STEM and sports. We are equally proud of our schools’ dedication to pastoral care, sustainability, diversity and inclusion, as well as fostering strong ties with other GDST schools and alumnae. We have over 100,000 alumnae and the network increases every year.
We are proud that our schools are recognised for their excellence in teaching and pastoral care. In 2024, GDST schools won top prizes in the Independent Schools of the Year Awards and the School House Awards, and nine GDST schools were featured in The Times GCSE 2024 Results table.
