Our excellent staff make us outstanding. If you apply and are successful you will be supported and developed through our extensive CPD programme organised in conjunction with our teaching school. Voted by ‘The Times’ as one of the best places to live in 2022, Farnham is a picturesque market town with plenty to offer, situated just an hour from both London and the coast. With picturesque Georgian streets, this charming town boasts independent shops and cafes alongside well-known outlets such as Waitrose, Giggling squid, Starbucks and Bills. There is a 12th century castle, leisure centre and a lively arts scene, with the Maltings theatre as the central hub and a calendar of events from film to comedy as well as live music in Gostrey meadow.

Weydon School became an Academy in 2011 and has grown from strength to strength. It is part of the Weydon Multi-Academy Trust (WMAT) and is one of the most oversubscribed schools in Surrey. The combination of excellent results, incredible facilities and first-class teaching have gained the school an excellent reputation. With over 1600 pupils and 200 staff, we offer a host of opportunities for development but as part of the Trust, there is even further scope for professional support and career progression.

Weydon School is consistently ranked in the top 10 of 11-16 comprehensives in the country according to the Sunday Times Parent Power with 88% of students achieving grades 4-9 in 5 or more GCSE’s in 2022. We are particularly proud of both the levels of respect between teachers and students and of the extensive range of subjects on offer, where vocational qualifications sit alongside the traditional academic ones.

It is not just academic learning that is apparent at Weydon - there is a state of the art theatre, 4G pitches and over 100 clubs on offer with something for everyone. Students lives are enriched by plentiful opportunities for school trips and visits.

Our staff are a close knit team, supported by Governors and parents. They are dedicated and hard working with a genuine desire to make a difference. The benefits are excellent and include health and wellbeing, staff discounts, financial benefits and advice, social events and professional development.

About Weydon Multi Academy Trust (WMAT)

In 2017, when a group of local headteachers wanted to work together to create even better opportunities for their students and staff, the Trust was formed.

There are currently seven schools in the Trust – three special schools (The Abbey School, The Park School and The Ridgway) together with four secondaries (Farnham Heath End, Rodborough, Weydon and Woolmer Hill School) all within the Farnham and Haslemere area. As a Trust, we are very positive about the difference we are making. As individual schools it is important that we retain the local context and identity of our unique academies, however we are ‘Stronger Together’ and joining our Trust means that you will also have the benefit of working with colleagues across the MAT. The benefits of working together and the support that you will receive will ensure that, in your career with WMAT, you will develop not only the staff you lead or the students you teach but also yourself. Our ambition is clear: to make WMAT a Trust that is outstanding both for the students that learn here and also for the staff that work here. All our academies are full and oversubscribed, a glowing endorsement of our success. Thank you for your interest in this position. We are inspired by the brilliant people who work in our Trust. Why not make an application to be part of a really positive organisation?
