The Progress Coach is an exciting new role aimed at improving the learner experience and improving the positive progression of all learners.

As Progress Coach, you will be responsible for tracking and monitoring the progress of a specific amount of Further Education learners. This will include conducting 1-2-1 meetings with learners, delivering the college group tutorial programme, liaising with members of staff, parents/guardians and external agencies where relevant, regarding learner progress, and signposting learners to wider support as and when needed.

You will also be a member of the college Safeguarding team which will include supporting a caseload of potentially vulnerable students, assessing risk and taking appropriate timely action. You will consult with the DSL where necessary to Safeguard students in line with policies and procedures.

You’ll have good problem-solving skills, a flexible and adaptable approach and demonstrate knowledge of Safeguarding practices, data protection regulations and referral procedures in relation to student information. You will be able to remain calm whilst providing interventions to students that may be at risk of dropping out of their course or at risk of harm.

A Level 3 qualification in an appropriate subject such as Youth and Community, Education, Psychology, Sociology or Health & Social Care is desirable, as is experience of providing careers advice and guidance.
