The school is internationally focused and is at the centre of our Mesaieed community, educating approximately 1250 children from 3 to 18 years of age, and representing over 30 different nationalities. The Progress Leader role is a new position in our primary school.  As a member of the Primary Extended Leadership Team, the post holder will share responsibility for ensuring all children in primary make excellent progress, by supporting staff and students to teach more effectively.  The focus will, initially, be on supporting SEN students, and the post holder will have a wider remit in developing pastoral support policies and procedures. 

We are seeking an outstanding teacher with excellent experience and references. The ideal candidate will:

  • Have up-to-date knowledge of innovative, inclusive teaching strategies in a primary school environment;
  • Be clear in their understanding of the importance of inclusion and pastoral care;
  • Have experience of supporting and training Teachers and TA’s with innovative inclusion practices;
  • Have knowledge and experience of teaching SEN students;
  • Preferably have knowledge and experience of teaching EAL students;
  • Provide critical analysis of the progress, intervention and achievement for target students;
  • Preferably have experience of working across teams to develop and ensure consistent implementation of the school policies;
  • Preferably have experience of managing Child Protection procedures in schools;
  • Be adaptable to respond to the needs of the children and staff;
  • Have a good sense of humour.
