We are a small community school in the centre of Leyland where staff, students and parents are known for our nurturing environment. Having just undergone a staffing restructure we have created the dynamic and exciting new position of Progress Leader.  You will be part of team of Progress Leaders led by the Assistant Headteacher for Progress & Intervention, who represent a central element in our newly developed Student Support Team, which also includes the school’s Pastoral Team and Learning Support.  

The main purpose of the Progress Leader role is: 

• To raise standards of student attainment and achievement and to monitor and support individual student progress 

• To be accountable for student progress and development within one of the Houses 

• To develop and enhance the role of the personal tutor 

• To be accountable for leading, managing and developing the House team and ethos  

• To positively intervene with Pupil Premium students so that the gap is closed in progress, attainment, opportunity and well-being in line with their non-PP peers. 

As part of the interview process candidates will be required to teach a sample lesson. This will be 45 minutes long on a topic of your choice, designed to inspire and challenge a mixed ability group of Year 8 or 9 pupils in your subject area.
