The Sixth Form College, Solihull is a large, culturally diverse specialist in A Levels and Level 3 vocational qualifications, and part of the Summit Learning Trust.
We are seeking a Progress Manager to oversee the work of a group of Academic Coaches
and to support in developing and implementing systems to enhance learners’ progress. Academic Coaching provides the foundation of pastoral support in the college. Each learner is allocated an Academic Coach who, in most cases, will be associated with the learner for the duration of their college experience. They are the main point of contact for our learners providing any support or advice needed, as well as a delivering a weekly coaching session.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Academic Coaches, providing advice, guidance and support. You will be responsible for monitoring the progress, outcomes, attendance and retention of learners and for dealing with more serious incidents or referrals.
To be successful you will have a good standard of education including level 4 or above in English and Maths at GCSE as well as ideally A-levels or level 3 qualifications and a degree. You will have previous experience of providing pastoral support to a wide range of learners in an education setting, ideally with post 16 students, and a track record of improving outcomes. Experience of leading and managing a team is preferable.
