Hours: Part time or full time, 4–5 days per week, term time + 1 week (39 weeks)

This is an exciting opportunity to play an important role in the success and wellbeing of students at New College Doncaster.

As a Progress Tutor, you will support, challenge and motivate young people throughout their college journey, helping them to raise their aspirations, build confidence and resilience, and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with students through goal-setting, progress and attendance monitoring, one-to-one mentoring and motivational coaching, providing targeted support and intervention where it is needed most.

You will develop strong relationships with students and work closely with parents, teaching staff, Heads of School and Senior Progress Tutors. Alongside academic support, you will provide pastoral guidance, help students make a successful transition into sixth form and support their progression towards higher education, higher-level skills or employment.

About you

You will have previous experience of working with young people and providing information, advice or guidance, together with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You will be organised, approachable and confident working both independently and as part of a team, with the ability to build positive relationships and respond effectively to different situations.

You should have qualifications to at least Level 2, including Maths and English, and a genuine interest in education and supporting young people to succeed. A flexible approach, enthusiasm for the role and a commitment to equality, inclusion and continuous improvement are also essential.
