The Key Responsibilities of the Role:
• Act as the first point of contact for your assigned cohort, providing strong pastoral support and promoting a culture of high expectations.
• Deliver a structured tutorial programme to support academic progress and personal growth.
• Track student progress, set meaningful SMART targets, and ensure positive outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with teaching staff, Area Leaders, and support teams to address individual student needs.
• Promote essential study skills, resilience, critical thinking, and independent learning.
• Support students through key milestones, including enrolment, UCAS applications, and career progression.
• Provide clear communication to students, parents, and colleagues to ensure student success.
What We’re Looking For:
• Honours degree or substantial relevant experience (Desirable).
• Level 2 qualifications including English and Maths (Essential).
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
• Ability to engage and motivate young people, fostering a positive learning environment.
• Effective IT skills and the ability to use technology to support learning.
• Experience in delivering workshops or group sessions (Desirable).

John Leggott College is the best Sixth Form College in the region for students aged 16-19 offering a wide range of courses including A Levels and BTECs. We have a 99% A Level pass rate, with 50% of grades achieved being A*-B. John Leggott College is a mixed, selective, non-denominational, general further education college situated in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire. It is a 16-plus institution based on a single modern campus close to the town centre, with good access to surrounding rural areas. There are around 1,700 learners at the college, between the ages of 16-19, studying a range of academic and vocational courses.

The college was founded in 1958 as John Leggott Grammar School. The sixth form was established in 1968 in the midst of a Scunthorpe education reorganisation.

Its vibrant International Centre for overseas students helps to arrange accommodation for international students around the Scunthorpe area. The leading sixth-form provision in the area, John Leggott College provides high-quality support for its learners while offering a great deal of opportunities. It has links to more than 240 local employers to help provide students with a better chance to succeed in their chosen field.
