The role
New College Doncaster is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Progress Tutor to join the College on a maternity cover basis until May 2027.
As a Progress Tutor, you will contribute to the development of student support across the College by raising aspirations and performance while helping to build ambition, confidence and resilience in young people. The Progress Tutor team plays a central role in maintaining a culture of hard work, success, resilience and high achievement, and you will work closely with students to support them throughout their learning journey.
You will work with students in a variety of ways, including goal-setting, monitoring progress and attendance, and providing motivational coaching. You will also liaise regularly with parents, Subject Teachers, Heads of Faculty and Senior Progress Tutors to ensure that students receive the guidance and support they need to succeed. Through supportive challenge and encouragement, you will motivate students to take responsibility for their learning and make positive progress towards their targets.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual with excellent communication, organisational and teamwork skills. You will have previous experience of providing information, advice and guidance to young people and will be confident in building positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues. A genuine commitment to supporting young people is essential.
