Project Based Learning

Due to our continued expansion, MCQ is seeking teachers of Project Based Learning (PBL) for Aug. 2023 or sooner if available.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development and delivery of the College’s vision and values. They will be a supportive member of the faculty team and wider school staff and help ensure the success of Malvern College Qingdao as a leading independent, international school in China.

Job Description:

• Deliver Year 8-11 (for 12- 15 years old) STEAM/cross-curricular instruction through project-based learning methods

• Employs a variety of instructional techniques, instructional media and performance assessments, which guide the learning process toward curriculum goals and student learning.

• Uses technology to promote learning, creativity and collaboration.

• Works directly with school administration and staff in the development, implementation and evaluation of cross-curricular initiatives and curriculum.

• Organizes, develops and coordinates special cross-curricular events/ activities

• Initiates new programs that support the vision of cross curricular development.

• Shares cross-curricular events and activities through social media such as school official news channels and website account

• Follow the local regulations and staff policies of the school.

Personal Specification:

• Multi-disciplinary licensed or certified teacher

• A minimum of an undergraduate degree in Education or the area of expertise required

• Previous teaching experience and strong knowledge in the area of specializations at the required levels of

study

• A strong ability to communicate effectively with middle school students

• Expertise in building active, collaborative classroom programs which encourage problem solving, critical

thinking skills and which develop a sense of classroom community and trust

• A solid understanding of a middle school organization, programs and students

• A proven ability to differentiate instruction and integrate learning
