St James’s is a member of the Bishop Fraser Trust, a C of E multi academy trust established in 2017. This is an exciting time to join us as it provides a great opportunity to work closely with the other three schools in the MAT – Bury C of E High School, Canon Slade School and Bolton St Catherine’s Academy; sharing good practice and building on our ongoing progress.

We are looking to recruit a PSHE & Citizenship Teacher on a fixed term basis to cover a Maternity Leave from 1st September 2023 until post holder returns.


Main Duties:

The successful applicant will be a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher who will contribute positively to the work of this highly successful department. You will teach both PSHEE and Citizenship to pupils across a range of ages. In addition, you may be required to teach some lessons in a second subject area and provide cover during additional frees.

The successful candidate will be someone who:

  • is a great team player, friendly and professional
  • enjoys working as part of a team and be able to communicate effectively with pupils, parents and staff
  • will quickly build rapport and effective professional relationships with both our young people and colleagues
  • will enthuse and motivate colleagues and students to work hard and try their best
  • has previous experience of working with children aged 11 -16 in an education setting
  • demonstrates personal resilience and role models those personal qualities we wish to instil in our young people.
  • has the ability and willingness to work flexibly to meet the demands of the role
