PSHE Teacher

(KS4 and Post-16)

Main scale/UPS applicants welcome

Required asap

London East AP (LEAP) is an inner city, successful and high-achieving KS3, KS4 and Post-16 alternative provision located in Tower Hamlets.

We are seeking to appoint a PSHE teacher to re-engage and support our most vulnerable students and raise the attainment of our often hard to reach KS4 and Post-16 cohort.

Applicants will hold QTS and will be a Humanities’ specialist, able to teach PSHE to ASDAN and another Humanities subject to GCSE standard, albeit to students who are struggling to access the curriculum and are likely to have learning needs. The successful applicant will be teaching at our KS4/Post-16 centre in Stepney Green, as well as provide extensive pastoral support to re-engage our students with education and make them feel confident about attending school.

An understanding and experience of how to close our students’ gaps in knowledge and skills, to support them with their literacy skills, as well as facilitating rapid progress to maximise attainment is essential.

The successful candidate will be able to relate to our students, most of whom have a multitude of social, behavioural and emotional needs. Many of our students have not had the best start in life and need outstanding teachers who will be supportive, kind and knowledgeable, yet boundaried and firm.

Those wishing to be considered for the role should complete an application form and return to Kathryn Ryan, School Business Manager, by Monday, 24th January 2022 at 9am. Please be aware that we are unable to accept CVs.

We would welcome and encourage potential candidates to visit our schools. Please telephone or email to arrange this or for an application pack.
