This is an exciting opportunity for a Clinical or Educational Psychologist with experience of mental health work to join a dedicated multidisciplinary team working with young people with complex special needs and mental health issues. 80% of the pupils have a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Condition plus other co-morbid diagnoses, so it is important that the successful candidate has experience with this client group.

The role includes being able to offer a range of assessments including cognitive, behavioural, mental health and mental capacity, in order to be able to support and advise parents/carers and staff and to manage a caseload. This post requires someone who is committed to supporting the school develop new and exciting services and is able to use their initiative and knowledge to develop unique education pathways, theories and approaches.

We seek someone who can generate enthusiasm and develop the potential of pupils who may have experienced frustration and trauma during early years of their lives and education and present with low resilience, esteem and tolerance. You would be part of a multidisciplinary team, managing your own caseload and a small team of staff providing intervention for young people requiring emotional and mental health support. There would also be opportunities to work with other OT and SALT.

In return, we offer excellent support from colleagues and staff, commitment to CPD, access to internal and external training and opportunities for multidisciplinary and multi-agency working. You must be HCPC registered, have your own professional insurance and be prepared to arrange your own clinical supervision. The school is committed to sharing good practice and you would be expected to provide internal and external training. It would also be expected that you would arrange and support trainee psychologists on placement.

For an informal discussion or to arrange a visit, please contact Mrs. Nicky Tolley, Head of Therapy Services.
