Psychology Teacher (A Level)
Currently undergoing an exciting and successful transformation in learning and teaching, we are actively seeking to appoint outstanding and innovative teachers to join us and help shape our journey from Good to Outstanding.
We therefore seek a dynamic, highly motivated and inspirational A Level Psychology teacher to join our successful Sixth Form in September 2017. The popularity and success of Psychology has helped us to become one of the top Sixth Forms in the county, with an ALPS grade in the top 25% of schools nationally. However, we do not rest on our laurels and are keen to appoint a forward thinking colleague who can take on the new A level programme and progress the subject still further.
This is an excellent career opportunity for a colleague who is passionate about the entitlement of young people to acquire an introduction to and understanding of the common principles and methods of Psychology through a challenging and vibrant curriculum. In return, we can offer you a great school to work within, a personalised induction and support programme for new staff, and many opportunities for professional development.
Working within a dynamic and highly successful faculty, you will be an outstanding classroom teacher who is totally committed to the progress of all students in our popular and fully comprehensive school. You will have an unwavering belief in the potential of every student, and a contagious enthusiasm for your subject which will excite and motivate all students to achieve their very best. You will:
- Engage, inspire and enthuse students through a genuine passion for your subject and for learning
- Have high expectations of student achievement and behaviour
- Be a great classroom practitioner
- Be forward thinking, creative and well organised
- Be enthusiastic, resourceful and fully committed to securing student progress.
Our popular and successful school (11–18) stands in beautiful open countryside on the edge of Beaminster, a Dorset town with great charm and historic interest, just 6 miles from the World Heritage Jurassic Coast. We have a joint Sixth Form with our partner school, the Sir John Colfox Academy in Bridport, with teaching in Years 12 and 13 shared between the two schools.
Visits to the school are welcomed and encouraged. Please do get in touch if you would like to arrange this.
We value the diversity of our workforce and welcome applications from all sections of the community. Beaminster School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. You are required to have enhanced DBS clearance.
