Job overview

Psychology Teacher

TLR 2c (£3,000)

Required as soon as possible

Permanent, full time

A unique opportunity has arisen for an outstanding inspirational teacher of psychology to join our Social Sciences department.

We are looking to recruit a committed and well-qualified teacher of psychology to teach motivated and enthusiastic students at A Level and GCSE. Ideally you will have experience of Advanced level subjects, although Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are welcome to apply and will be given support if successful.

Psychology is a part of the Social Sciences faculty along with Sociology. Psychology is an extremely popular subject within the school, having groups in both Year 12 and Year 13; students follow the AQA A level syllabus. The GCSE syllabus followed is AQA.

We are a heavily oversubscribed 11-18 rural school that was described by OFSTED (June 2017) as a good school where students achieve well and leave the school with results that are above the national average - all judgements were good.

We strongly believe in distributed leadership and are committed to the individual professional development of all staff.

Students are very well behaved and respond positively to our hard-working and highly committed staff.

If you have any questions, please contact the Headteacher’s PA, Mrs S J Davies, on the email address below. Further details and application forms are available from the school website http://www.idsallschool.org

Completed applications should be emailed to jobs@idsall.shropshire.sch.uk

Closing date: midday on Monday 3rd October 2022

Interviews: week commencing 3rd October 2022

Idsall is an equal opportunities employer. We are committed to safeguarding children and the successful applicant will be required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure by Criminal Records Bureau prior to commencement in post. This post is a designated customer facing role and under the fluency duty requires a specified level of spoken English as stated in the person spec and in line with our policy.

Ofsted

“In all lessons, the teachers create a positive climate for learning where all students feel comfortable offering their opinions, knowing that they will be listened to by adults and by one another with respect. Additional adults are used effectively to support the specific needs of some students who learn well as a result.”
