Nelson and Colne College Group is a beacon for educational excellence, made up of a family of colleges – Nelson & Colne College, Lancashire Adult Learning & Accrington & Rossendale College.

We are looking for Lecturers to join our Higher Education division on a part time hourly basis. 

This post will be primarily based at Accrington & Rossendale College campus in Accrington but travel to Nelson & Colne College campus in Barrowford may be required. 

The successful candidate(s) will teach on HE Computing courses with a particular focus upon HNC, HND delivering effective learning for students

The main duties include:

• Be up to date, plan and prepare and high-quality teaching as required by your Line Manager.

• Develop and share resources including maintaining effective links across College for resources

• Regularly assess students in order to track and monitor progress

• Maintain comprehensive, up to date, student/subject records and provide information, as requested

• Be responsible for the appropriate administration of exam entries for the subject and liaise with external awarding bodies, as appropriate

The ideal candidate will have:

• Successful teaching experience in the relevant subject area 

• Degree in a relevant subject area 

• Recognised teaching qualification (or a willingness to achieve this within three years of appointment)

• Minimum GCSE grade C (or equivalent) in Maths and English

About Nelson and Colne College

Nelson and Colne College, located in the town of Nelson, Lancashire, offers further education to 1,600 full-time students and 3,500 part-time adults. The college was founded during the reorganisation of education in Pendle in the early 1970s and created by the merger of several local sixth forms. 

Recent investments have included a £2m engineering facility, an all-weather sports pitch and gym, fully equipped science laboratories, and student study and social spaces. In January 2017, Nelson and Colne College launched a university centre to offer a range of higher education programmes in East Lancashire and beyond.
