At The Costello School we pride ourselves on having a robust culture that encompasses our ethos of ‘enjoy, respect, achieve’. We are seeking an excellent, experienced teaching colleague who can join us on the Extended Strategic Leadership Team to further develop the culture of our School. Working alongside one of our Assistant Headteachers, this role is at the heart of School development post pandemic.

 

The Costello School was inspected in November 2021 and is a Good School with Outstanding features. We are proud to boast excellent facilities and an incredibly broad curriculum, with a wide academic and vocational offer. Role profile:

 

  • Developing policies, understanding and latterly praxis for Metacognition for students in our school, but especially to aid the learning of our PP students and those with high Vulnerability Index.

 

  • Training vulnerable students, colleagues and parents in Metacognitive processes to develop resilience and fuller understanding of how we learn as individuals.

 

  • To develop student’s grit, resilience and overall the ability to un-stick themselves through metacognitive support.

 

  • Coaching colleagues in metacognitive techniques and processes to develop the way in which we use evidence informed pedagogy.

 

  • Use research and development to underpin all strategic decisions.

 

You will be expected to attend weekly STL meetings and also uptake training on a recognised Senior leadership course, such as the NPQSL.

 

Colleagues from all subjects will be considered for this role, however, candidates who teach English, Maths, History or Music are favourable.
