Pupil Support Assistant

Salary: £14,7944 - £16,850 (Pro-rata for part time, Sessional 39 weeks)
Hours: 27.50 (Monday - Friday)

Towerbank is a large non-denominational; two/three stream primary school which serves the community of Portobello on the outskirts of Edinburgh. The current roll is 720 in the main school and 40/40 in the nursery.

The management team currently consists of the Head Teacher, two Depute Head Teachers, two Principal Teachers and a Business Manager. Specialist provision is currently provided in Music, P.E. and French.

We are looking for a Pupil Support Assistant to join our staff team.  This post is to provide one to one support for three days per week, Monday to Wednesday, for a pupil with significant complex needs which will involve significant provision of personal care, and Thursday and Friday for various pupils across the school.  It would suit someone who has previous experience working with children with significant special needs and who understands and values the importance of the children's health and wellbeing.  Flexibility, enthusiasm and a commitment to inclusion are some of the key skills required to fulfill the post.  There may be the opportunity to continue working with a particular child when they move on to their High School placement in 2017/2018 fulfilling a key role in their transition.
