Based in Grove Academy, you will work term time full time, 37 hours per week on a temporary basis until 30 June 2022.

Requirements

You will have a degree in Community Education, Social Sciences or SVQ level 4 or above in an appropriate discipline.

Responsibilities

You will support pupils as a member of a multi-agency team in a secondary school. Your key tasks will involve identification of problems that pupils experience and develop ways to help pupils overcome barriers to learning.

The Individual

You will have experience of community-based youth work with 11-18 year olds, Child Protection and Youth Consultation/Youth Action/Youth Information.

You will have good written and verbal communication skills, group work skills and IT skills and be able to work flexibly.

You will be a good team player with the ability to use your own initiative in the team context.

You will have an understanding of young peoples' health and information needs and a sense of social and professional responsibility.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
