About the School:
Belmont Primary School is an independent SEMH school for boys aged 5 to 11 and is part of the Acorn Care and Education which has many schools across the country. Our Victorian school building has been completely refurbished to provide 7 modern classrooms, each with ICT provision, plus various specialist rooms and great outdoor play facilities.
The approach is individually based in line with the Code of Practice and the school aims to forge practical working partnerships with pupils, parents/carers and involved professionals. The aim of the establishment is to encourage children to achieve and succeed personally, academically and socially. We also aim to develop a self confidence that will enable them to cope in everyday situations, and manage the transition from school to college or work environments.
The intention is to provide a local resource for pupils, parents and local authorities within one hour travelling distance, this will allow children to be retained within their family and community environments.

About the role
As a Pupil Support Worker, you will work with individuals and small groups of children on educational activities, assisting Teachers with the delivery of educational and behavioural programmes. You will encourage the social and emotional development of children, using positive approaches that help them build relationships and self-esteem.
Our Pupil Support Workers play an important part in the development of pupils, offering support and stability in the classroom, on external educational visits and during recreational time. Ultimately you will contribute to the personal, academic, social and behavioural development of children, improving their ability to cope in everyday situations and manage the transition from school to college or work environments.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for positive role models who would like to make a difference to the lives of our pupils and their families. Care or Support experience would be an advantage but just as important are the right personal qualities and a real desire to encourage positive outcomes. We would like to hear from people who have caring and nurturing qualities coupled with good levels of positivity, resilience and tenacity, who would like to utilise these skills to support the children attending Belmont School.
This is a great opportunity to join a team that make a positive difference to children’s lives every day.
