Gresham’s is a leading independent co-educational day and boarding school for pupils aged between 2 and 18. Set in 200 acres of beautiful countryside and just 4 miles from the breath taking North Norfolk coast, we are a vibrant community of pupils, staff and parents. We have around 800 pupils spread across three sites in the Georgian town of Holt.  

We are currently looking to recruit a Purchase Ledger Administrator. The successful applicant will be a member of a small team of operational staff providing support for Gresham’s School, Gresham’s School Enterprises Ltd and Gresham’s Foundation. You will be responsible for maintaining the purchase ledger for Gresham’s School; processing invoices for payment, dealing with supplier queries and obtaining approval from staff across all three schools; performing bank reconciliations; maintaining school trip finance records and administering other regular and ad hoc ledger processes.   

To be considered for the role you should be a self-starter, extremely efficient and organised, able to cope with a purchase ledger which involves in excess of 800 suppliers. You must also have experience of performing bank reconciliations and month end purchase ledger closure procedures. Good knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft packages would be beneficial and experience with accounting packages and double entry ledger posting is essential. You must display excellent communication skills, a can-do attitude, ability to multi-task and a good sense of humour in times of high pressure.

About Gresham's School

Gresham’s is a co-educational boarding and day school for children aged 2-18. It is situated in the Georgian town of Holt in beautiful countryside, just three miles from the breathtaking North Norfolk coast.

The school was founded in 1555 by Sir John Gresham who forged close ties with The Worshipful Company of Fishmongers. On his death, he left the school in their care and strong links with them and the City of London remain to this day.

The school enjoys a generous campus with excellent facilities including a state-of-the-art music building (Britten) with its own recording studio, indoor and outdoor performance spaces including a theatre (Auden), multi-surface sports pitches, tennis courts, swimming pool, sports hall and shooting range. The Dyson Building opened at Gresham’s in September 2021. Sir James Dyson, a former pupil at the school, enabled the innovative new centre for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) education.

The school has an impressive list of Old Greshamians including the composer Benjamin Britten, the poet WH Auden, Oscar winning actress Olivia Colman and international rugby players Tom and Ben Youngs, to name but a few.
