PYP Coordinator (TLR 2) (Non-class based) - Sha Tin Junior School

Job Description

Sha Tin Junior School is seeking to appoint a PYP Coordinator commencing from January 2023.  The position will be on a full-time contract from January 2023 to August 2024, renewable by mutual consent. See ESF Terms and Conditions for further details of the package.

TLR 2 - Curriculum (PYP) Coordinator:

• To lead the Primary Years Programme (PYP) throughout the school and the associated transitions
• To actively lead and monitor curriculum development across the school
• To support collaboration across the school, and support planning and professional learning
• To support the moderation of the curriculum
• Enable professional learning through collaboration and self-evaluation
• To coach and mentor colleagues
• To participate in SJS and other ESF validated self-evaluation (VSE) processes
• To take an active lead in the IBO evaluation process
• To help support recommendations for and organisation of professional learning 

Specific Coordination Roles 

• Understanding of the IB/PYP and inquiry-based learning
• Understand the needs of young students
• Coordinate, lead and develop the IB curriculum
• Review the IB evaluation processes
• Support the development of specific IB Programme Development Plans
• Support the strategic direction of the school as directed by the Principal
• Lead whole school professional learning opportunities 
• Contribute to the School Development Plan 

Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree in Education, or
• Bachelor Degree in any subjects with PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate of Education), or equivalent
• Evidence of further professional study eg. Masters in Education
• Recent IB/PYP and middle leadership experience is essential
• Achievement of and adherence to professional standards
